Should you be on 7?
This plan bills a demand charge on top of the per-kWh rates: a fee tied to your single highest hour of the month. Two homes using the same total electricity can pay very different amounts if one of them runs the dryer, the oven, and the car charger at the same moment. We do not price demand charges yet, so treat every dollar figure on this page as a floor, not a total.
Before a single kilowatt-hour moves, this plan charges $168 a year in fixed fees. On the apartment above that is 21% of the whole bill; on the house with a car charging in it, 9%. Fixed charges are invisible in a cents-per-kWh comparison and they punish small users hardest — if you use very little electricity, the headline rate is the least important number on this page.
Expect the bill to move with the calendar. The same family home costs about $160 in July and $89 in February — a $71 spread driven by heating and cooling far more than by anything you chose. Budget against the July figure, not the average, and a summer bill stops being a surprise.

This rate is available on a voluntary basis to customers using the Company's standard service which is specified as a single point of delivery per premises from an existing overhead distribution system to individually metered private residences and individually metered dwelling units in apartments structures or other multifamily residential structures. It is not available for resale service nor shall service be supplied to dwelling units having a total or more than ten rooms, five or more of which are rented or offered for rent to any person or persons not a member, or members, of the immediate family of the owner or lessor of the dwelling units. A dwelling unit is defined as a room or group of rooms having, in addition to living quarters, kitchen facilities for the sole use of the family or individual occupying such dwelling unit.
